Good branding starts with good artwork. Even the best product and branding method can look poor if the supplied logo file is blurry, too small or not suitable for production.
The best format: vector artwork
Vector artwork is preferred for most professional branding because it can scale cleanly without losing quality. This is important when the same logo needs to work on different products, from pens and notebooks to banners and clothing.
Preferred formats can include AI, EPS, SVG, editable PDF and CDR where available.
What about PNG and JPG files?
PNG and JPG files may be accepted for some branding methods, but they must be high resolution and clear. A small image taken from a website, email signature or WhatsApp message is often not suitable for production.
If an image becomes blurry when enlarged, it may need redraw or vector preparation.
Common artwork problems
- The logo is too small or low resolution.
- The file is a screenshot instead of original artwork.
- The logo has a background that should be transparent.
- The text is too small for the branding area.
- The colours are unclear or not matched to brand standards.
- The file is flattened and cannot be edited.
When logo redraw is needed
Logo redraw or vector preparation may be needed when the supplied artwork cannot be used for clean production. This is common when the only available logo is a low-quality JPG or screenshot.
Lilly White includes a logo redraw option in the cart quote form. The current artwork redraw fee is P350 if required.
Approve before production
Customers should check the branding layout, position and artwork details before production begins. Once branded products are produced, changes are difficult and may not be possible.
Final thought
If you are unsure whether your artwork is suitable, upload what you have. Lilly White can check the file and advise whether it is print-ready or needs preparation.
